Spalding takeaway wants to extend opening hours

A takeway wants to extend its opening hours due to a ‘lack of business’.

Sultan Kebab and Pizza, based on New Road, Spalding, has applied to trade into the early hours to tap into the post-pub and club crowd.

It has requested hours be extended to 3pm-12.30am on Sundays to Thursdays, 3pm-2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays and 3pm-12.30am on Bank Holidays.

The business is currently allowed to operate from 8am-11pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 8am-10pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

In an application to South Holland District Council, agent Sajan Varghese – acting for Asty Mustafa – gave the reason for the request as: “Client would like extension of business hours due to lack of business at the existing time.”

The store recently had an application to open until 3am every day rejected by South Holland District Council on the grounds that this idea was ‘unacceptable’.
