Smart Cabs showing its support for Spalding Flower Parade
A Spalding based taxi firm has opted for special Flower Parade themed wrap for a new vehicle in its fleet.
Smart Cabs is gradually moving to a completely hybrid fleet and manager Jack Coupland decided the latest addition should feature the logo and design for the revived event.
The cab is already out on the road - and has brought a smile to many.
Jack said: “We said that we wanted to help Steve advertise the event and we’re really proud to be involved. The parade is a tradition which goes back years and I think everyone really wants to see it back.
“We wanted to do anything we could to help make that happen.”
The taxi is the twelfth addition to the hybrid fleet for Smart Cabs and will play a role in the parade in May.
Jack said: “The vehicle will be in the parade and then it’s going to be parked up in the arena at the Castle Sports Complex afterwards so that people can see it.
“It’s out on the roads now with the same driver and he says people are really happy to see it, even letting him out of junctions when they do.
“I think we will keep the wrap on until after the parade. It’s very eye-catching and I think it’s something we could do every year.”
Parade organiser Stephen Timewell added: “I’ve had so many comments from people who have seen the taxi around town.
“It’s a great idea and I’m thrilled with it.”
Jack says if you see the taxi - and it is safe to do so - take a photo and post on social media, tagging in Smart Cabs.
