Officers also say they were informed to two teenagers being assaulted in two separate incidents and a window being damaged at the Co-op.

A force spokesman said: “We are aware that there have been a lot of conversations about these incidents on local social media groups and we wanted to provide as much of an update as we could so you know what actions we are taking.

“Officers were deployed to the area and carried out a number of other enquiries, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old man on suspicion of public order, assault, criminal damage, and harassment.

“There’s a lot we can’t go into at this stage, but there are numerous lines of investigation being followed, and officers are speaking with the victims in all of the cases.

“We’ll update you when we can with any further information. Right now, the investigation is continuing and the man arrested remains in custody and will be questioned by officers in due course.”
