Weston teenager says drink drive crash was 'bad move'
A Weston teenager told magistrates that crashing his car after drinking six beers was 'a bad move really'.
Tristan Mansfield (19), of Delgate Bank, admitted driving with excess alcohol when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The court heard that at 7.30pm on May 17, he came off the road in Holbeach Road, Spalding and crashed into a bush.
He gave a reading of 76 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath, more than twice the legal limit of 35.
He later told police he had drunk 'about six beers'.
Mansfield, who was not represented in court, said: “I crashed my car and I was definitely over the limit. Bad move really.”
He was banned from driving for 20 months, but was offered the drink drivers' rehabilitation course, which will reduce the period of the ban by 20 weeks.
He was also fined £340 and ordered to pay £119 in costs and charges.
