A teenager who admitted assaulting another man and possessing a blade in public will learn his fate next month.

Crowland resident Joshue Phipps had previously pleaded guilty to the two incidents which took place in his home town on January 6.

He admitted being in possession of the blade at Crease Drove and admitted a charge of assault by beating.

No plea has been given for a third charge of common assault, which is also alleged to have taken place in Crowland on January 6.

The 19-year-old was due to appear before Boston magistrates for sentencing on Wednesday (March 12).

However, defending Phipps, of Adcocks Avenue, Mike Alexander said there had been ‘concerns’ about his client’s ‘mental capacity’ and requested the case be adjourned for a doctor’s assessment.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn the case until April 9.

Phipps was released on conditional bail and must not contact two complainants or attend Crowland Cranes.
