Ye Olde White Horse and Ship Albion in Spalding: This is the latest on the closed pubs
New management is still being sought for a Spalding pub which closed last autumn.
Ye Olde White Horse, owned by Samuel Smith Old Brewery, shut its doors suddenly in October.
The reasons for the closure of the 16th century pub, with its distinctive thatched roof, are still unknown.
However, an advert on the classifieds website Gumtree states that Samuel Smith’s is still looking for a ‘live-in joint pub management couple to run a well-maintained historic thatched roof pub with open fires, wood panelled walls, trade kitchen, car park and garden.’
The Ship Albion pub, in Albion Street, also closed some weeks ago. Its Facebook page has not been updated since November 2.
Owners of the pub, the Broadgate Group, have confirmed that the lease of the pub has come to an end but that the plan is to redecorate and re-let it.
* There was divided opinion in April last year when Samuel Smith’s decided to ban all mobile devices including phones, tablets and laptops from its pubs.
