Gedney Dyke beauty and holistic business is going from strength to strength

As the beauty and holistics industry works through the backlog of clients in need of a pamper, one Gedney Dyke business is going from strength to strength.

Anna Norris says clients have been visiting in their droves for a post-lockdown relax.

Anna, who set up Anna-Marie Norris Beauty Therapies in the Gedney Dyke, moved to the village with her husband earlier this year, bringing a wealth of knowledge with her.

She said: “I had been working for myself in Suffolk and when I moved here I wanted to do the same thing.

“I have a treatment room in the house and what I love about this area is that it’s so quiet and such a tranquil setting, which is exactly what you want.

“I’ve found that there are a lot of salons in this area but most of them focus on hair and nails so I offer something a little bit different.

“As I’ve been doing this for so long I have really evolved with the industry. I’ve learnt lots of new skills as I’ve gone on, from aromatherapy to reiki and hot stone massages.”

Anna offers a wide range of treatments to clients, from facials and holistic massage to nail and eyelash treatments.

She is also able to guide clients through treatments to find which ones are perfectly suited for them.

Anna said: “I do just about everything apart from eyelash and nail extensions and I’m able to guide people along with the right treatments for them. My treatment list is more of a guide because the treatments can be tailored to each individual based on their needs.

“A lot of people are surprised by how relaxing it is to have a facial and they often say the same thing after a massage. Indian head massage is great for people who struggle with migraines or have tight scalps, and that can be combined with back massage too.

“Massage is really good for wellbeing, it calms you down which is what people need after an incredibly stressful time.”

Although Anna was unable to see clients during lockdown due to government restrictions, she took the time to perfect her treatment room and ensure that all clients will be safe on their visit.

She said: “I have been vaccinated twice and I test myself regularly to be safe as you can still pass on the virus after being vaccinated.

“Coming out of lockdown, people are still being very careful about what they are having done and I want to make sure that I can put their minds at rest. There are plenty of precautions in place here and I want everyone to know that they are safe.

“It’s been really hard over the last few months and I think treating yourself to a relaxing treatment at the end of lockdown is a very good idea.”
