South Holland District Council received threatening Tweets against staff
Threatening Tweets against South Holland District Council staff have been reported to the police.
The council has blocked a number of accounts after receiving two disturbing messages.
A spokesman said: "As a local authority, we have a fantastic relationship with our online community of residents. For their part, they hold us to account and ask us questions on a wide range of issues which we’re more than happy to respond.

"Regrettably however, there’s been two occasions recently where someone on Twitter has used their account to threaten and abuse one of our officers.
"This is simply unacceptable. Everyone has the right to live and work without fear of personal attack.
"We are currently in discussions with the Police and Twitter to hopefully identify the individual and prevent such occurrences from happening again. If anyone has any information which could help with these enquiries, we would ask them to contact the Police.”
