Time Team professor Carenza Lewis features on Spalding Gentlemen’s Society’s autumn programme
A town historical society has a busy programme of events ahead during the autumn.
Spalding Gentlemen’s Society will be holding a special event at the end of the month along with launching its popular public lecture programme – which will be kicked off by Time Team’s Professor Carenza Lewis.
The society has recently announced plans to save its 1911 Broad Street home from further structural damage along with extending into the neighbouring business centre to create a museum and research facility.
At the end of this month, the society will be putting on ‘Archaeology and Landscape – 18th century prints of Samuel and Nathaniel Buck’ on September 30 in the Broad Street Methodist Church.
Visitors will be able to explore the rich history and stunning landscapes of various locations, from bustling cities to serene countryside, created by these two renowned 18th century artists.
This event, which runs from 9am-2pm, will provide the opportunity to engage with experts in the field of archaeology and gain valuable insight into the significance of these prints, discovering the stories behind each artwork and uncovering details that bring history to life.
Tickets cost £20 (£10 for students) and can be bought from Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/archaeology-and-landscape-c18-prints-of-samuel-and-nathaniel-buck-tickets-708638455697?aff=oddtdtcreator
