‘Together we continue to innovate!’ Springfields outlet shopping centre in Spalding is reporting a rise in turnover and footfall.
A outlet shopping centre is reporting a rise in turnover and footfall.
Spalding’s Springfields Outlet and Leisure says its 2025 week one turnover was up 31% on last year while footfall has increased 24%.
This builds on Springfields’ best-ever Christmas period.
“It’s a pleasure to work with such a terrific line up of retail partners and together we continue to innovate and grow every year,” said Ian Sanderson, owner of Springfields Asset Manager SLR Outlets, which originally developed the scheme.
“We’re here to help everyone succeed and it’s a pleasure to report such great results.”
Many stores traded with annualised densities over £1,000 PSF with the highest at £2,922 PSF.
This is a premier division performance for the UK outlet industry. Like-for-like trading was particularly strong, with the highest store lifting up 53%.
The Christmas school holidays saw a massive boost with turnover up 16% in comparison to last year and footfall up 6%.
This was all on the back of Springfields three best-ever weeks’ sales around Black Friday and immediately after, beating the record set in 2023 by 13% up.
Footfall over Christmas was very busy, with guests attracted by the choice of gifts at competitive outlet prices, mince pies and Christmas cheer throughout the scheme, and of course the ever-popular Winter Wonderland Walk.
The Winter Wonderland Walk has become a massive regional attraction with circa. 30,000 paying guests, increasing dwell time and sales.
Five new stores boosted footfall as well, including Molton Brown, Ben Sherman, Luke 1977, Quba Sails and Loungers’ new Petalo Lounge bar-café.
Springfields has over 55 designer outlets set in 25 acres of beautiful gardens and leisure attractions, featuring brands like Molton Brown, Skechers, Levi's, Dune, Osprey London, Radley, Joules, M&S Outlet, and White Stuff.
