Staff at Chosen Charity Shop in Holbeach have generously donated the £750 to purchase the 'Tommy' silhouette to be placed by the graves of the World War I fallen in Holbeach Cemetery.

Staff from Chosen handed over the cheque to Mike Brett and Carole Williams from the Trust.

You can still help raise funds for a second 'Tommy' by making a donation to Holbeach Cemetery Chapels Trust by:

  • visiting www.mydonate.bt.com and follow the link 'donate to a charity', then search for Holbeach Cemetery Chapels;
  • sending a cheque made out to Holbeach Cemeteries Chapels Ltd, to Holbeach Cemetery Chapels Trust, Old White House, Baileys Lane, Holbeach Hurn PE12 8JP;
  • or dropping some money into the orange collecting boxes placed in shops around the town.

'Tommy' will be placed near the graves of the World War 1 fallen soon, when people can look out for him and discover the stories behind the names on the grave stones.
