South Holland District Council tool tells residents when new bin days will be

Council bosses have unveiled an online tool to help residents to find out about changes to their bin collections.

South Holland District Council is changing bin collection routes for the first time in ten years – and the new arrangements for refuse and recycling come in on Monday.

The council has been sending out letters with details of the new bin days this week – with all due to reach households by the end of the week.

Examples of changes include:

*Spalding (using Winsover Road as an example): Refuse and recycling changing to Monday (from Thursday and Friday respectively)

*Holbeach (using Church Street as an example): Refuse changing from Tuesday to Friday, recycling from Thursday to Tuesday

*Long Sutton (using Dick Turpin Way as an example): Refuse and recycling both moving to Thursday (from Friday and Wednesday respectively)

If you would like to find out how the collection changes impact on your household, go to www.sholland.gov.uk/mycollections and type in your post code and house number.

As part of the changes, the ‘purple bag’ card recycling scheme operating in Pinchbeck and Surfleet will also end.

The council has confirmed that collections will remain weekly – and brown bin collection routes will be reviewed next.
