Spalding pub closes its doors but will re-open in new year
A town centre pub has shut its doors – but will re-open in the new year.
The Lincolnshire Poacher, on Spalding’s Double Street, was closed for business earlier this week.
But landlord Cameron Bean plans to re-open in January.
The doors to the pub – whose sign promises ‘always a warm welcome’ - were locked and the lights off when this paper visited earlier this week.

Cameron told this paper: “We’re not closing.
“The pub has been closed as I’ve been away for a few days. We’ll be re-opening in January.”
The Lincolnshire Poacher was re-opened last year by Cameron who left the building trade for pub life, at the time saying he was looking forward to his ‘new adventure’.
Following a summer revamp it opened its doors in October.
The pub was once a staple of the town's night time economy but had been empty for many of the previous years after being put on the market in 2018, less than two years after a £100,000 refurbishment.
