Long Sutton Dentistry moves to 'emergency telephone consultation service' to help stop COVID-19 virus
An award-winning Long Sutton dental surgery is switching to an emergency telephone service only for patients due to the coronavirus crisis.
Long Sutton Dentistry, in Market Street, is to close its normal routine appointments service and re-schedule them, provisionally from May 1 onwards.
However, patients with severe pain or swelling can call the practice, winners of the Customer Care category at the 2018 South Holland Business Awards, on 01406 364600 where further instructions will be given.
A statement from the practice, published on social media, said: "Our team have been working tirelessly to keep Long Sutton Dentistry a clean and safe environment for you.
"As a dental practice, we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything we do. I
"In addition to our usual scrupulous cross-infection control measures, we have been paying particularly close attention to all government guidance and updates related more specifically to coronavirus.
"Given the unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus, we feel we must use our own clinical judgement and act in the best interests of our patients and staff.
"It is with very heavy hearts that we have taken to decision to temporarily close the practice and, all being well, we will re-open on May 1.
"We will be operating an emergency telephone consultation service for our patients who have urgent pain or swelling during this period of closure.
"If you urgently need assistance, please us on 01406 364600 and speak to our team or follow the instructions on the recorded message."
