Gousto's Spalding site may make redundancies

A company has warned it may have to make redundancies in Spalding as it makes changes its operations.

Gousto, which supplies recipe kit boxes nationally, has said that due to alterations in how it works there is a possibility of redundancies from its site in Camel Gate.

However, a spokesperson said the company remains committed to the town.

They said: "Unfortunately, owing to an updating of our processes to reduce packaging and provide greater recipe choice for our customers, certain roles at our fulfilment centre on Camel Gate in Spalding are no longer required.

"Of those employees affected, many will move across to alternative roles in the same site, while we give other team members the first chance to fill open vacancies at our other sites.

"Where it is not possible to redeploy colleagues, regrettably some redundancies may follow.

"We remain absolutely committed to Spalding and this is not a decision we take lightly.

"To further mitigate its impact, we will work with our agency partners to help find affected colleagues alternate employment in the area."
