Spalding micropub opens to regulars again for table service only

Popular Spalding micropub The Priors Oven is open for business again less than a week after calling "last orders" temporarily so that COVID-secure changes could be made inside.

The Sheep Market-based local, known for its selection of real ales and gins, has been made compliant with new government guidelines to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

The main bar has been removed for the time being and replaced with a table and seating area, while customers will also be required to wear face covering on arriving, leaving and moving around the micropub.

The new, COVID-secure layout inside Spalding micropub, The Priors Oven, includes a table and chairs in place of the main bar.

Its first day of reopening was yesterday (Thursday, October 1) and co-owner Nathan Marshall said: "We're asking customers to be respectful of our rules, making sure they sanitise their hands, check in with the new NHS QR code and to give their details for the test and trace system."
