Spalding Road in Pinchbeck as closed

One of the main routes into town has been closed.

Long traffic queues are reported in Spalding Road, Pinchbeck, after the road has been closed from the Wardentree Lane junction.

Anglian Water has been working in the area in recent days to repair a burst water main. As a result of this work, temporary traffic lights have been installed, which have also created problems for motorists.

One driver has reported that it is currently ‘nose to tail’ between the Spalding Road/Wardentree Lane junction and Morrison’s roundabout.

This is the second traffic issue in the area today as the level crossing at Winsover Road, Spalding, has been blocked off since 7pm last night. Police were reported to be at the scene.

We have approached Network Rail and Anglian Water for comments on both issues.
