Spalding trainer – who lost an amazing 11st – could be making a second appearance on Gemma Atkinson’s Overshare podcast
A personal fitness trainer has been invited back onto a radio podcast - with a view to give advice to listeners.
Heather Walker, who works out of Everybody’s Gym in Spalding, appeared on Gemma Atkinson’s The Overshare podcast.
The radio presenter, well-known for Hollyoaks and Strictly Come Dancing, welcomed Miss Walker onto the show about body image following her weight loss journey.
And it looks as if the two will be reunited.
In the new year there will be a chance the fitness expert could rejoin the show in an advisory capacity.
Miss Walker said: “Gemma’s producer Matt has said the stats for the podcast have been really good and Gemma was wondering if I could do something for next year – give advice in an episode.”
This follows her appearance where she was able to help give advice to a woman who had a gastric band.
The new series will start in April 2024 and Miss Walker added: “I am happy to do another and offer advice –knowledge is power and I am happy to offer advice.”
Heather is definitely walking the walk having lost a staggering 11 stone 6 lbs on her own fitness journey before becoming a personal trainer earlier this year.
“It started back in 2017. I was really suffering badly with depression and was on a high dose of sertraline,” Heather told this paper in the spring.
“I tried counselling and that didn’t work.
“I didn’t feel comfortable doing that.
“I was at the lowest point in my life and I didn't know what to do and, in some ways, didn’t want to be here.
“I went to the doctors for a routine check up and she said about my weight.
“ It snapped it in me.
“That caused me to quit my tablets.
“ I went cold turkey and threw them in the bin. I walked into Everybody's Gym in Spalding and that’s where it started. I was a size 26.
“I took out a programme and started to work on it, which was a distraction from coming off the medication, which wasn’t much fun with the side effects.”
Miss Walker first appeared on The Overshare as a guest to discuss bodies – why we love them and why we loathe them.
