Trial date set for Spalding resident accused of punching and spitting at police officer

A trial date has been fixed for a Spalding resident accused of punching and spitting in the face of a police officer.

Artus Stankus (42), of Swan Street, pleaded not guilty to assaulting PC Gooby at Boston Police Station on April 25.

At Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, Stankus was told the trial was set for July 1.

The defendant was released on unconditional bail.
