One Spalding charity ball is a record breaker ... while another aids Diabetes UK and Garth School
The sixth Crystal Ball at Springfields on Saturday raised a record-breaking £13,000 on the night with more to come.
Emma Lambe, one of the organisers, said: “We smashed not only our expectations but also our previous totals out of the park.”
The organisers have thanked their wonderful guests who have now helped raise more than £63,000 for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
The ball was started in memory of lead committee member Kelly Beba’s father, who sadly passed away from lung cancer in 2011.
Kelly said: “This was our most successful night ever and we had some wonderful feedback on the night, making it all worthwhile. I am so proud of what we have achieved.”
Most of Saturday’s total came from raffle ticket sales, entry into a game to win an Apple watch and an auction.
Guests enjoyed a three-course meal and a midnight bacon sandwich boost to keep them going.
Entertainment came from the band Funk Soul Brother and DJ Shaun Neal.
* Across town, at the South Holland Centre, guests were dining and dancing at the Snowflake Ball in aid of Diabetes UK and the Friends of Garth School, Spalding.
One of the organisers, Helen Webster, said: “A good night of fun was had by all whilst helping others.”
