Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding makes post-pandemic return with gig today
The Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding is back in business and looking forward to playing at local gigs in the area after closure due to the pandemic.
So many groups had to shut their doors and abandon rehearsals and playing because of Covid.
But the orchestra has returned , and their first post-Covid gig will be for the Gateway Club this month.
“The Spalding Mencap Society’s Club has always been one of our favourite gigs , and it seemed only right to make our return to play for them”, said Press Officer John Baguley.
The orchestra will perform on December 9 and will go on to play at Beechlodge Care Home, Holbeach , later in the month.
Gigs in the new year are currently being planned.
“Singing, strumming and smiling has been at the heart of what we do for over ten years. We can’t wait to get back” said John.
Any group or club wishing to make a booking from March 2023 should email booking.uoos@gmail.com
The UOofS perform for free, but accept donations, which go to local charities chosen by the orchestra.
