UPDATE FRIDAY 2.05PM: Elderly woman taken to hospital after firefighters help to release when trapped at her home in Bourne




A 75-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after falling down at her home in Bourne this morning.

The woman became trapped behind a door at her house in Stanton Close, off Manning Road, Bourne, shortly before 4am on Friday.

A fire crew from Bourne used small tools and specialist equipment to gain access to the house before giving the woman first aid.

She was then taken to Peterborough City Hospital by ambulance but her condition is not yet known.

FRIDAY 9.40AM: Firefighters help elderly woman after falling at her house in Bourne

A fire crew came to the aid of an elderly woman who was trapped inside her home in Bourne today.

Firefighters were called to the home of a 75-year-old woman in Stanton Close, off Manning Road, Bourne, shortly before 4am on Friday.

The woman had fallen behind a door and the fire crew used small tools and specialist equipment to force open the house where the woman was trapped.

After getting in, firefighters gave the woman first aid before leaving her in the care of an ambulance crew.
