Resident confronts people breaking Spalding town centre traffic rules in YouTube video
A concerned resident filmed himself confronting drivers breaking Spalding’s town centre road rules in a bid to force action in the long-running saga.
Videos posted on the ‘Saddle Sore Budget Bike Rescue’ YouTube channel showed the resident, who asked not to be named, being sworn at and ignored by drivers, despite him pointing out that they were entering a pedestrianised zone.
Drivers are not allowed to travel through Market Place between 10am and 4pm Monday to Saturday, but this rule is being widely ignored and unenforced.
In one video, one driver indignantly asks how they are supposed to get to Boots and another says she’s driving in to town because other people have done it.
The resident replies to her: “What if they drove off a cliff, would you drive off a cliff?”
At the end of the first video, he comments: “Will this make any difference? I am not too sure. Worth a try though as we can only get people in authority to act by applying a bit of pressure.”
The first video contains language that we are unable to print in a family publication.
However, we have published links to both below to highlight the work done by the resident.
Should you be offended by foul language or be in the presence of children, you may not wish to watch the full video.
