Popular Moulton Chapel butchers saved from the chop
A well-known village butchers has been saved thanks to two businessmen, who are aiming to provide locally sourced quality meat to the area.
Moulton Chapel's Brian Frisby Butchers has now been taken over by Ricky Turner, who grew up in the village, and Jethro Rowling.
The pair have received the keys to the Roman Road shop and are planning to refurbish the site with the aim of opening within the next six weeks.
Mr Turner, who also owns Crowland Pallets and has experience in working in a butchers, is excited to be taking on the business and plans to expand its range.
He said: “We are really excited to be taking on the business.
“While a lot of butchers have closed in recent years, we feel there is a lot of potential in business, especially if you focus on providing quality products. Our aim is provide quality fresh, locally sourced meat.
“Moulton Chapel is growing, with a number of new houses being built in the area.”
Mr Turner and Mr Rowling, who owns East Anglia Civils, will now be undertaking a refurbishment project for the shop.
They are aiming to modernise the building while also providing a traditional butchers theme.
Mr Turner said: “We will have a butcher from King’s Lynn who will be joining us who has 40 years experience.
“I have worked in a butchers in the past and will be working in there.
“We are also looking at selling sandwiches and other products like that to help cater for people who are working in the village. We are really excited about taking over this business.”
