Pinchbeck Carnival committee pay tribute to former chairman, Chris Schofield
Village residents paid tribute to ‘very missed’ carnival chairman at a popular event over the weekend.
More than one thousand people came together to support Pinchbeck Carnival on Saturday (June 14) and honour Chris Schofield – who sadly died last year aged 82.
Committee members for the annual event wanted to include Mr Schofield – who was know as ‘Mr Pinchbeck’ – for one last time.
Vice-chairman of the carnival, John Pailing said: “It was a surreal tribute to all of the work Chris has done over the years.
“He is a very missed chairman and was such a nice man.
“We had his red tractor on display in the field all day and it was a fitting and lasting tribute for him.”
The annual parade returned with a range of entertainment for families and residents to enjoy, including live music performed by Abba Infinity, Mullered at The Mill, Rock Choir and the Young Voices Choir.
There were also classic cars, vintage tractors, a range of stalls and food vendors and children’s rides.
John added: “It was a very well attended event and lots of people enjoyed listening to the live music.
“The whole committee put a whole load on work into the carnival and everyone gets stuck in and works together.
“I’d like to say thank you to everyone who contributed to make it such a wonderful weekend.”
Unfortunately the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight was unable to fly over the village.
