Libraries in the Donington, Spalding and Long Sutton area are back open

Donington Library has reopened after being closed for six months due to the lockdown.

The library is now open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am until 1pm. Volunteers will be on hand to assist borrowers to return and collect any reservations with books handed over at the doorway.

All books returned will be put into quarantine for 72 hours. There is no access to the public computers for the time being. Volunteers will be wearing masks whilst in the library.

It is one of a number of libraries undergoing a phased reopening.

Spalding Library, which had previously been operating a pre-booked service only for reservations following the lockdown, is now re-open for people to go inside. Face coverings must be worn.

Manager Sharman Morriss said: "We’re now open 10am until 4pm on weekdays and from 10am until 1pm on Saturday mornings. We are offering limited services including browsing and borrowing, reservations, photocopying, printing services, pre-booked one hour computer sessions and more. We can still do the library takeaway offer and book bundle services as well."
