Friends of Spalding murder victim launch fundraising page to help with funeral costs

More than a thousand pounds has been raised to help the family fund a funeral for the man who was murdered last week.

People have rallied around to support the family of 45-year-old Vadims Zmicerevskis, who was killed after an incident at the junction of Green Lane and St Thomas' Road in Spalding on Monday, November 11.

Friends have now launched a Go Fund Me Page to help Vadims’ mother and sister pay for a funeral and so far it has collected £1,215.

Vadims has been described as a kind and caring person who was always smiling on the tribute page.

It states: “Vadim was loved by everyone and will be truly missed by his family and all friends.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this truly devastating time.

“We have set up this ‘Go Fund me’ to help support his family with the funeral costs through this heartbreak.

“Every little help would be very much appreciated.

“Vadim, you will be truly missed…”

Another friend, Anzelika Jankina, has also paid tribute and appealed for help with the fundraising.

She said: “If you could donate and help raise any amount, the world is not without good people, I believe that there is more good.

“We will be glad for any help, we will be glad for every penny, we want to bury our dear little man, say goodbye to him.”

The Go Fund Me Page can be found here.

Viktors Zeglovs, 33, of no fixed abode, was charged with murder and has been remanded in custody following an appearance at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday. His trial is likely to take place next year.
