Meet gorgeous Gertie Fond farewell to Chico Training tips

Meet Gertrude or “Gertie” to her friends… has been with Jerry Green for three months now and is sadly still looking for her forever family.

Gertie wasn’t very happy in the kennels, so has been placed in a lovely foster home, she is very much enjoying life with her foster family but would love a permanent home all to herself. Gertrude has met other dogs on walks but would prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can have all the human love to herself.

She may be happy to live with older children who don’t mind bouncy dogs. If you would be interested in meeting Gertrude please contact the south Lincs team on 01205 260546

The team had a lovely visit from Mr and Mrs Cross who adopted Chico from us last year.

They came in to let us know they are moving abroad and wanted to let us all say bye to Chico.

Whilst here they dropped off some great knitted toys that Mrs Cross had made for the dogs.

So we decided to play a game of “where’s Lottie and Sassy?” They had a great time hiding in all the new toys.

When rewarding calm behaviours, remember the golden rule to reward behaviours we would like to see our dogs doing again.

This can be helpful when we want our dogs to relax and be calm.

When your dog is relaxed and chilling out at home, walk past and drop them a treat.

How often do we reward our dogs for doing nothing?!

Rewarding when they are lying down and calm can encourage them to do this more often - which isn’t a bad thing after all!
