Wendy's on the cards for Spalding site
Plans are being drawn up to bring a popular American burger chain to Spalding.
An acre of land on the Lincs Gateway Business Park has been sold to Dukesmead Investments, which is planning to build three new units - including a Wendy's drive through.
It is also hoped that a coffee drive through and a further retail unit will also be built on the land.
A spokesman for Ashwood Homes, which sold the land, said: “We are delighted that Dukesmead Investments have acquired land on our business park in Spalding enhancing our plans for the park.
"The development will continue to provide many jobs for local people and enhance the local economy."
The stretch of land is located next to KFC and Taco Bell, both of which opened last year.
Wendy's opened its first UK branch in Reading in 2021, with plans for 400 around the country.
It's the world's third largest burger chain with almost 7,000 outlets across the globe.
Currently, the nearest Wendy's branch is in Brampton Hut in Cambridgeshire where the A14 meets the A1.
