Spalding-based Rush Hour Escape Rooms given 'We're Good to Go' Visit Britain award to reopen after lockdown

Spalding’s escape rooms will reopen to the public on Wednesday, July 29.

Brett Harman, who runs the business in Red Lion Street, with his partner Hannah Stinson, says that extensive measures have been put in place to ensure safe play for teams.

He said: “Our booking site is now live for groups to book games from July 29 onwards. We are so excited to reopen the escape rooms to offer groups the chance to escape lockdown.

“We have two escape rooms to choose from with different themes (The Infected and Save the World). The aim? To escape a room within 60 minutes by solving clues, riddles and puzzles and finally unlocking your way to freedom.

“We have implemented some changes to our operation to ensure that teams have a safe place to play. We have been given the ‘We’re Good to Go’ award from Visit Britain as our premises have been approved to be COVID safe.

“We have added automatic touchless hand sanitiser stations on entry and exit.

“The escape rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before each game. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is optional and available on request if your team needs masks or gloves.

“Our bookings are now staggered to avoid contact with other households. Your escape room experience is also private to your team within your social bubble.”

Prior to lockdown, the business had only been open for six months – so Brett says they are eager to reopen and show off their exciting escape rooms.

He added: “Bookings can be made online and we are encouraging those that had their booking cancelled due to our enforced closure to contact us to reschedule.”

Last month, we reported how Brett and Hannah had launched an online escape room game option during the closure of the physical business.

They had worked closely with Bewilderbox escape rooms in Brighton to be able to launch the virtual game, called the B.R.U.C.E Project, which is still available to play online.

In it you pilot an experimental robot through mind-boggling challenges. You get to drag, drop, solve and sleuth your way through each interactive puzzle, with every action synced across your team in a private lobby.

A follow-up to the game, the B.R.U.C.E Project Part 2, is now also available via the Rush Hour Escape Rooms website for those who enjoyed the first one.
