Long Sutton's Unicorn Diner is not closing - it's moving to bigger premises
With a sprinkle of fairy dust, Long Sutton’s popular Unicorn Diner will be flying over to new premises next month.
It comes as good news to its many customers. There were worries it was closing when its current premises in Market Place came up for lease.
On its Facebook page, staff posted: “We are not closing, we are moving to a bigger premises still in Long Sutton.
“And we are really looking forward to it. We have a lot planned; look forward to sharing it with everyone xx.”
Pippa Dawson, who works at the business with her mum, owner Faith Pearson, said: “We are moving to the top of the road, next to the Woolpack (Crown and Woolpack) pub.
“It is a bigger premises and we will be able to cater for about 60 people. We can only get about 19 in at the moment.
“Our deliveries are still very popular and we are going further afield, as far as Moulton.”
Pippa’s brother Adam Light, has been hard at work getting the new premises ready for the planned opening early next month.
“He’s making it all ‘unicorny’ for us,” she said.
“We just want to say thank you to our regular customers who have supported us.
“We have outgrown our current place and we are just really thankful to all our customers.”
The Unicorn Diner opened at the end of 2017, with the aim of providing ‘a range of high quality, tasty and affordable food for all.’
When the diner opened, Faith said she was keen that the food should be affordable, while maintaining high standards.
And as a fan of mystical beasts, fairies and other enchanting creatures, she decided to theme the diner to give it a quirky edge.
“I want to appeal to everyone,” she said, “From the builders wanting a nice, big hearty breakfast at a low cost, lunches and sandwiches to go, and mums can bring in their children and have a cup of tea and cake at an affordable price too.”
They also provide buffets, and cater for weddings and events.
