Friends appeal to find man who was last seen in Quadring

Friends of a man who was last seen walking in Quadring have issued a fresh appeal for information on the 20th anniversary of his disappearance.

Michaela Ives says Glyn Taylor was like a little brother to her and is desperately hoping that he will finally get in contact.

Glyn, then aged 21, was last seen at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2001, walking along Quadring Bank towards Donington.

Sadly no-one has seen or heard from Glyn since that day although his car was later found by police.

He became friends with Michaela and her father, Chris Bell, while growing up at RAF Wittering.

Michaela, who now lives in Peterborough, said: “We are in shock and disbelief that that it has been 20 years since Glyn has disappeared.

“We have so many questions – where are you? Are you with anyone? Are you still alive?

“I find it very difficult to understand how someone can just disappear and not make any contact. Why hasn’t he made contact with anyone to let us know he is safe?

“I would say to Glyn – please get in contact with us. Let us know you are safe.

“You are not in trouble. We would just like to hear from you.”

Glyn was attending Loughborough University at the time of his disappearance and his family lived in Quadring.

Police later found his blue Seat Ibiza in Quadring Bank.

A dog search of the area was carried out and leaflets issued to shops and homes appealing for information. But to this day, there have been no further leads on what happened to him.

Michaela, who runs the ‘Missing - Glyn Taylor – Spalding, Lincolnshire’ Facebook group, said: “My dad found it quite tough.

“He was a father figure to Glyn. He has done quite a few bits and pieces to campaign to try to find him.

“My dad is now 73 and I pray that one day Glyn will turn up and my dad will be able to see it.

“It would be my wish that he would let us know that he is okay.Glyn was a very caring young man who loved his music.”

l If you have any information about Glyn’s disappearance, you can contact police on 101 or contact the Facebook page.
