Pinchbeck Women’s Institute celebrate centenary with tree planting

The planting of a tree marked the end of centenary celebrations for Pinchbeck Women’s Institute.

President Margaret Moyses planted a Prunus Jacqueline, a flowering cherry, in Pinchbeck Memorial Garden during a special ceremony on Saturday.

The blustery weather did not deter members of the group and friends from watching the planting and they also took a turn in layering the soil to 'settle' the tree into it's new home.

The group, which has marked its important anniversary with a number of events over the last year, will also be adding a commemorative plaque to the base of the tree.

The ceremony was followed by refreshments in the church hall.
