'Potential predator' left note on woman's car at Bourne Wood




A threatening note was left on woman's car while it was parked at some woods yesterday (Monday, June 21).

The message, pushed under a windscreen wiper, described what the person might do in a 'hidden place' in Bourne Wood, where the woman had gone to walk her dog.

The note was reported to Lincolnshire Police and to the Friends of Bourne Woods.

Describing the culprit as a 'potential predator', a post on the Friends of Bourne Woods' social media said: "Please be vigilant when using the woods and if you have seen anyone acting in a suspicious way, or have also found such a letter on your vehicle, and not yet done so, then please consider contacting the police."

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman added: "We received a report that a note had been left on a car at Bourne Wood.

"A woman left her car at the woods while she walked her dog. She returned to her car at around 10.45am to find a note under her back windscreen wiper which she found harassing.

"We are looking into this incident. If anyone notices anyone acting suspiciously or has any information on this incident they can call us on 101."

The crime reference for the incident is 67 of June 21.
