WORD ON THE GROUND: New NFU Mobile App

Access to the latest news, advice and information is key to our members. As with all organisations, we at the National Farmers Union are also acutely aware of the need to keep up to date with the latest technology.

Whilst our members quite rightly value the ability to meet face to face with their local group secretaries to discuss area of importance to them and indeed the ability to join fellow members at sector and issue-specific meetings arranged by the branch, there is a need to keep pace with technology.

Recent years have seen our website, email, text messaging and social media become incredibly valuable tools in getting information to our members in a timely manner.

Now, for the first time, the National Farmers Union has added to these facilities an app, available in both Android and iOS format. The app has been purposefully developed to have the ability to cut through the noise and focus on the specific information impacting our members' farming or growing businesses.

Acting on feedback from our membership, indicating that around 42 per cent of our online users do so on either a mobile phone or tablet, the app provides an easy to access, tailored information service exclusively for NFU members.

The app can be downloaded from either Google Play or iOS App Store. Search for 'NFU' and look for the NFU logo on a white background. The app should be downloaded in the normal manner and once downloaded you will be able to log in using your NFU membership number and the password you use to access NFUonline.
