Wyberton dentist taking NHS registrations now
A dental practice at Wyberton is ready to help ease the crisis for Spalding people who want treatment on the NHS.
Boston Dental Centre, in Saundergate Lane, is just under thirteen-and-a-half miles from Spalding town centre, close to a bus stop and has ample on-site parking for cars.
Helen Patchett, from the practice management team, contacted the Free Press to say NHS registrations are being taken now.
This could be good news for some of the scores of disappointed prospective patients who tried to register with two NHS practices that were due to open in Spalding this month.
At the 11th hour it was revealed neither practice could launch because they were unable to recruit enough dentists.
Boston Dental Centre opened in October 2006 and currently has 10 dentists, seven full-time and three part-time.
Mrs Patchett said: “Boston Dental Centre is a nine surgery practice.
“We currently have approximately 53,000 patients registered and are accepting new NHS patients.
“Boston Dental Centre pride ourselves on offering our patients the highest quality of care.
“Our dental team provide a friendly and professional service and are available to help with any dental advice that you might need.
“The practice has parking available on site and there’s a bus stop outside, which is used by (Brylaine) Spalding and Boston buses.”
Also accepting NHS patients is the Gosberton branch of Fen House Dental Practice, based at 42 High Street, which can be contacted on 01775 841653.
A surgery listed by the NHS as Dental Practice (Mr T Oyedale), at 59 Norfolk Street, Boston, is accepting NHS patients and can be contacted on 01205 365870.
Spalding’s Johnson Community Hospital has an urgent care dental treatment centre but this does not offer routine care.
NHS England recently said it is looking at alternative models of service delivery in order to provide Spalding with full NHS dental services.
