Holbeach youngster Penny Butcher’s hair raising amount for Little Princess Trust donating hair to make wigs for children
A young fundraiser has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by having her hair cut.
Penny Butcher, who is eight and a pupil at Holbeach Bank Primary Academy, had 24 inches of her hair cut.
She has raised £690 via her Just Giving Page that will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair through illness.
Proud mum Lisa Butcher said: “Penny said she was happy with all the money she raised.
“She would want daily updates as she was so excited.

“Myself and Penny’s dad were overwhelmed by all the sponsors.”
The big cut took place at Hedonism in Spalding, where she bravely had it chopped to shoulder length.
Mrs Butcher said: “It wasn’t just friends and family who donated but work colleagues and clients at Hedonism here she braved the chop.
“We raised more than we anticipated which was so good for the charity.
“On the day of the haircut Penny said she was nervous- but she smiled throughout.”
The inspiring youngster’s school will be holding an assembly about the fundraising and how it will help the charity.
Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
Mrs Butcher added: “Penny says she feels much lighter and likes how easy it is to look after.
“We have to give her a different hairstyle every day now.
“However she said she is going to grow it.”
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
