In the firing line for that particular event were group leaders Hazel Davies and Georgia Yates - but both were delighted with the youngsters.

Hazel said: “They’ve set up two GoFundMe pages as well, and raised over £100 on each of them.”

Following the Spalding event, which had followed on from others throughout the area during previous weeks, kids enjoyed a big celebration of their achievements on Friday afternoon.

Their work had been part of a ‘Social Action Project’, which set them the task of making a difference in their local community.

The NCS runs a national programme and is incorporated by Royal Charter - and this is the first time its summer scheme has come to Spalding.
