Youngsters offered free entry to Spalding United’s clash with promotion rivals Loughborough Dynamo
Youngsters are being offered the chance to watch two football teams battling for promotion free of charge this weekend.
Spalding United will be running their latest supporter offer when they host Northern Premier League Midlands rivals Loughborough Dynamo on Saturday.
Under 16s are being given free entry to the Sir Halley Stewart Ground when accompanied by a full paying adult.
The Tulips enjoyed a bumper crowd when they ran the same offer for the home clash with Bedworth in September.
A further attempt to let youngsters in for free fell foul of the weather when the planned contest with Corby Town was postponed earlier in the season.
The club has also offered free entry and a bacon roll to over 65s in November as part of their community programme this term.
Other schemes have included free entry for the first 300 through the gate and a food bank collection.
“It’s exactly the same thing as we tried to do when the game was called off against Corby. Hopefully we’ll have better weather this time,” said club general manager Jonathan Barnett.
“We’re playing Loughborough Dynamos, a decent team who are fighting for promotion as well.
“It should be a really cracking match.”

There will be all to play for as Elliot Sandy’s second-placed United entertain fourth-place Dynamo, who trail by just two points.
“We did the same offer right at the beginning of the season and had a crowd of 692,” Jonathan added.
“I think that shows people in the town want these offers.”
The contest will kick off at 3pm.
