Pinchbeck United beat Swaffham Town in the Thurlow Nunn League
Manager Lewis Thorogood feels his Pinchbeck United side are acclimatising to life in the Thurlow Nunn League after making it back-to-back wins at the weekend.
The Knights followed up their midweek victory over Whittlesey last Tuesday night with a tidy 2-0 away success at Swaffham in Division One North on Saturday.
The win also came with a second successive clean sheet for Pinchbeck who have hit their boss' target of 10 points from their first six games of the campaign.
Thorogood said: "It's been nice to finish the month with a couple of wins and two clean sheets.
"It has taken us a couple of games to get acclimatised to the league and how it works and the style of play that you come up against.
"We're now into a little bit of a rhythm and we're showing that bit of experience in finding ways to win games.
"Swaffham did dig in and made it difficult for us which was a good test.
"We've got those 10 points now which was my target, we're sitting mid-table and are only four or five points off the play-off places with games in hand.
"It's been a decent enough start to the season in the main and we're happy and satisfied.
"It's not the end product though and, although we won't be carried away, we have started off well and now need to keep ticking the board over."
After a goalless opening period on Saturday, Pinchbeck took a 57th minute lead as Luke Cullen and Flynn Slater combined well to set up Logan Tate to score the opening goal.
The Pedlars were then reduced to 10 men when Ben Coe was red carded after collecting a second caution.
And the Knights wrapped up the win with eight minutes remaining as Slater again did well to hold the ball up before producing a fine pass for Tate to convert.
Thorogood added: "Slats and Logan are starting to form a bit of a bond.
"Slats set up both of the goals with two good assists and Logan was in the right place at the right time to put them away.
"We are still a young group like a lot of teams in this league but we are taking our learnings from last season and trying to apply them.
"It has given us that little bit of edge and guile which is now showing at times."
The Knights travel to face Gorleston Reserves on Saturday.
Pinchbeck United Development completed a good day for the club at the weekend by opening their Boston League campaign with a 3-1 home success against Wyberton A.
Nathan Brettoner, Rhys Cox and Jack Williamson were on target for the Knights in the Premier Division clash. They visit Coningsby on Saturday.
