Deeping Rangers Reserves and Moulton Harrox added another twist to a fascinating Peterborough League Premier Division title race on Saturday.
The Clarets' second string defeated reigning champions and current league leaders Uppingham Town 3-2 with Ben Cowles, Jaden Walker and an own goal with five minutes remaining securing the win.
That allowed third-placed Moulton to close the gap on the pacesetters to four points with four games in hand after a vital victory over Stanground Sports who remain in second spot.
The Peterborough side - who are only above Moulton on goal difference and also have four games in hand on Uppingham - succumbed to a strong second half showing from Harrox as goals from Marcus Parry and Nathan Smith secured a 2-1 win.
Crowland remain on the fringe of the title race in sixth spot after a 5-0 away victory at Wittering Premiair.
Five different goalscorers were on target for Crowland as Danny Firth, Harry Grigas, Nathan Pickering, Lawrence Stewart and Joe Strickland all netted.
