Cole Parrish, from Holbeach, will be competing in the Super One Series next season following a trophy-laden term

A rising motor-racing star is ready to take the next step on his career pathway after a successful campaign.

Cole Parrish, from Holbeach, will be competing in the Super One Series next season following a trophy-laden term.

The seven-year-old has produced a series of eye-catching performances in his maiden campaign.

Dad Nick enthused: "It sounds mad to say he's a champion in just his first season.

"It has been a bit overwhelming at times because it's been such a crazy year.

"I pushed him quite hard in his first year but he absolutely loves it and motor-racing is all that he thinks about."

Cole was the 2024 bambino champion for six to eight-year-olds at Woodthorpe Kart Club where he also scooped the GP Plate and 0 Plate accolades.

He also claimed third place in the Tattershall Owner Driver Sprint Championship before showing his potential further afield.

The Max Verstappen fan finished on the podium in Kart Club and Motorsport UK Racing events at Rye House before featuring as a guest in the Super One Series.

The talented youngster came home seventh at Whilton Mill and also took a top 10 place in the London Cup competition to cap a terrific first season.

His exploits have seen Cole sign with one of the top engine builders in Lerego Performance for the new season as he competes in the Super One Series where he will be following in some famous footsteps.

Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton started his career in the same series and was also under the Lerego umbrella.

Nick added: "Cole said when he first started that it was his dream and goal to compete in the Super One Series.

"He got himself a guest appearance last season and did really well which got him noticed.

"He over-exceeded and because of his performances last season he's now got a national place.

"It shows the pedigree of the engine builder we've got and, in winter testing, Cole has been up there competing and sitting on the back bumper to work with the lad that is probably the boy to beat this year.

"Lewis Hamilton also came from the Super Ones so there is the opportunity to get spotted."

Cole's campaign is due to get underway at the Rowrah circuit in Cumbria before further rounds at Glan Y Gors Park in Wales, Fulbeck, Whilton Mill and Shenington.

His races will be live-streamed on YouTube this season and dad Nick is hoping that the extra exposure will help attract sponsors to boost Cole's cause.

He commented: "We'd love a big sponsor to help because, as you can imagine, it's expensive with engine rebuilds and the cost of tyres.

"There's also the race equipment as children grow so quickly. It can be a costly game."
