Pinchbeck appoint Crozier as new manager, with Tate as coach
Pinchbeck United have ended their seven-week wait for a new manager by naming a replacement for multiple trophy winner Ian Dunn.
Tom Crozier, who was assistant manager to Simon Daws at Bourne Town, now has the top job at the Knights after taking caretaker charge for the last two games.
Chairman Gary Coomes said Crozier would lead the squad that faces Lutterworth Town in the Uhlsport United Counties League (UCL) Premier Division tomorrow, with Alfie Tate staying on as first team coach.
Speaking on Wednesday, Coomes said: "The way things are going, we'll make the appointment of Tom Crozier permanent.
Before joining the Knights and Wakes, Crozier was reserve team manager at UCL Premier Division side Boston Town and also managed the Poachers' feeder club, AFC Boston, before it resigned from the Balcan Lighting Lincolnshire League in February 2018.
Meanwhile, Crozier and first team coach Alfie Tate will have new defensive signing Reuben Lal to call on for the trip to the Swifts.
The 18-year-old centre back came through the ranks at League One side Burton Albion and Coomes said: "Reuben came to a trial game we had and he impressed us.
"He has a good pedigree through his youth football and he wants to get back in the game, so we'll put him in the shop window."
Coomes added that two more trialists will be joining the Knights as they look for their first win in all competitions this season.
After picking up their first league point with a 1-1 draw against Peterborough Northern Star last Wednesday, Pinchbeck were trounced 4-1 at UCL Division One side Aylestone Park in their Buildbase FA Vase first round qualifying tie last Saturday.
Tate said: "It's a difficult game but we've done our research on Lutterworth and we hope to devise a game plan to improve on the games we've played before.
"We've got a few areas that I think we've identified and we want to work on.
"Everybody is responsible, at the end of the day, and everyone plays their role in the collective objective that we're trying to achieve.
"Reuben will come in and give us a little bit more depth in the defensive department.
"Coming from an academy background, he'll have good training and from that he'll make an impact."
. Since the announcement of Tom Crozier as Pinchbeck United manager on Thursday morning, the Knights have made three new signings.
Ex-AFC Rushden and Diamonds under-21 player Kevin Annan, former On Chenecks left-sided midfielder Tommy Orumwense and Portuguese midfielder Kennedy Resende, who played for Romanian sides Olimpia MCMXXI and Talna FC, have all joined the club ahead of tomorrow's trip to Lutterworth Town.
