Lincolnshire Premier League cricket round-up





Bourne knocked Woodhall Spa off top spot in the Lincolnshire Premier League as an exciting title race took another twist on Saturday.

Jack Berry's side were five-wicket winners at the Abbey Lawn against the previous leaders who have now been leapfrogged by Scunthorpe.

Three-wicket hauls from Dan Freeman and Rob Bentley had helped dismiss Woodhall for 180 after the visitors had been put into bat.

Berry (52) and Sam Evison (60) got Bourne's reply off to a strong start with a 114-run opening stand.

Jordan Temple added a further 23 and, although Jonny Cheer and Freeman both departed cheaply, Carl Wilson and Bentley saw them to victory with 24 overs still remaining.

Spalding lost by 85 runs against new leaders Scunthorpe who have opened up an 11-point advantage at the top.

Centuries from Ian Snowden and Henry Wilson had helped Scunthorpe post 290-4 from their 50 overs after electing to bat first.

Harsh Bhandari took a couple of wickets for Spalding who were then dismissed for 205 in reply.

Opener Ollie Dring top-scored with 64 while Divyeash Vaseeharan made 47 with Brandon Andrews hitting a late cameo of 39 which included seven boundaries.

Long Sutton remain at the foot of the table after losing by 162 runs at Grantham who made 322-3 from their 50 overs after electing to bat first.

The visitors were then bowled out for 160 in reply with opener Jacob Gray making 43 and Rajan Sangha scoring 25.

Market Deeping crashed to a heavy 332-run reversal against Bracebridge Heath at Outgang Road.

The Lincoln side racked up 447 from their 50 overs after batting first with AJ Cook cracking 113 as Connor Gillett took five wickets with Hayatullah Niazi claiming four for an expensive Deeping attack who were put to the sword by their visitors.

The long afternoon in the field must have taken its toll on Deeping who were bowled out for 115 in reply with Matt Mills top-scoring with 34.
