Spalding make it two from two, Holbeach have first league win this season, Pinchbeck draw at Lutterworth

Spalding United made it two wins out of two in the Pitching In Northern Premier League South East Division after a 2-0 win at home to Carlton Town today.

Midfielder Shane Clarke scored both goals at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, one in each half, as the Tulips claimed their second clean sheet in a row.

Goalkeeper Michael Duggan made some important saves in the second half to keep the home side ahead, while Tyrell Shannon-Lewis could have made things more comfortable for Spalding early in the second half, firing over from a Lewis Brownhill assist.

In the Uhlsport United Counties League (UCL) Premier Division, Holbeach United collected their first win of the season, dismantling GNG Oadby Town 6-0.

A week on from the Poachers' 10-1 Buildbase FA Vase humiliation at Deeping Rangers, the Tigers scored four goals in the first half through Jon Fairweather, Will Barnes, Josh Ford and Spencer Tinkler.

Ford added a second with a free kick and Jonny Lockie netted late on in the second half, with Barnes being sent off in-between the goals for a professional foul.

But a crucial three-minute spell in the first half saw Ricky Drury save a Suleiman Nassor penalty before Barnes made it 2-0.

After the game, Holbeach manager Phil Barnes said: "It was a really pleasing result, but the clean sheet was the big thing for me."

Also in the Premier Division, Pinchbeck United came from behind to draw 1-1 at Lutterworth Town.

The Knights fell behind after just three minutes at Kong Park where Patrik Kacirek equalised 18 minutes from time to give manager Tom Crozier his first point since he was confirmed in the post on Thursday.

But it was a painful away day in Warwickshire for Deeping Rangers who let in five unanswered goals at Rugby Town.

James Hancocks scored from 25 yards out to put the Valley ahead at Butlin Road and Danico Johnson made it 2-0 before half time.

Then two second half goals from Charlie Evans and one from Dylan Parker made it a miserable afternoon for the Clarets.

In UCL Division One, Bourne Town surrendered a one-goal lead to draw 1-1 at Irchester United.

Mo Hamza gave the Wakes an 18th-minute lead at Alfred Street, but Nathan Haycock equalised for the Romans six minutes before half time.

There were chances for both sides in the second half, including a couple for new Bourne striker Sam Bayly who has been brought in from Stamford.
