Holbeach United have a home match against Great Yarmouth Town in the Thurlow Nunn League

Holbeach United are setting their sights on completing a hat-trick haul of vital wins on Saturday.

The Tigers host fourth-placed Great Yarmouth Town in a crucial Thurlow Nunn League Division One North clash at Carter's Park.

Just one point and two places separates the two teams in the league standings with Holbeach boss Danny Clifton keen for his charges to maintain their strong run of form.

They have bounced back after three successive defeats to beat both Stanway Pegasus and AFC Sudbury Reserves in recent games to reignite their push for promotion despite a depleted squad.

Top scorer Connor Pilbeam has joined Sleaford Town while midfielder Harvey Thorne has been ruled out until around Christmas due to injury.

Will Barnes does return from suspension for Saturday's match but they will again be without fellow midfielder Sam Carter.

Clifton commented: "It was a huge win last Saturday and, if we can get another one this weekend, then it will mean we've taken nine points from three games against teams around us which would be really good and that's the aim.

"If we can do that then we can put behind us that week-and-a-half which we went through which seemed like two months when we lost three games.

"That is football though and how quickly things can change. Sometimes, when you're up against it, then that's when you're at your best.

"We started the season really well with a very strong squad with lots of players and rotations until that stopped working.

"Now, all of a sudden, we're a team that's been to the bare bones with some big players not available but we've gone and got two results like we have.

"I've been in and around the game long enough to know that this time of year is when you're better off with a team of honest footballers who all run for 90 minutes like they did on Saturday.

"They are all big games for us at the moment but Saturday is definitely a massive one."

The Bloaters will be looking to complete a league double over the Tigers after winning 4-3 in the September meeting between the two sides.

The Norfolk team netted four times in the first half before Holbeach launched a comeback which fell just short despite goals from Carter (two) and George Frost.

Deeping Rangers are without a United Counties League Premier Division match this weekend while Pinchbeck visit ninth-placed Heanor.

Bourne are also on their travels in Division One as they make the trip to face West Bridgford.
