Former Coventry City, Hamilton Academicals, Stranraer and Darlington player Jonathan Ngandu joins Spalding United
An impressive performance against Spalding United last season has earned Jonathan Ngandu a move to the Tulips for the coming campaign.
Ngandu was part of the Stratford Town team which was knocked out of the FA Cup last season by Spalding.
But the performance of the 22-year-old former Coventry City youngster caught the eye of Tulips boss Elliot Sandy.
He said: "Jonny was outstanding for Stratford against us last season.
"He's the type of young and ambitious player we want and I look forward to working with him."
Ngandu has had spells in Scotland with Hamilton Academicals and Stranraer and finished last season in the National League North with Darlington.
The midfielder is the second new recruit of the close season following the acquisition of full-back Josh Ezewele from Halesowen Town.
Twelve members of last season's title-winning squad have also agreed to return for the new campaign.
They are James Clifton, Glenn Walker, Kyle Barker, Sam Warburton, Nathan Stainfield, Sam Cartwright, Tony Breeden, Danny Draper, Joe Curtis, Lewis Hilliard, Jordan Graham and Sam Bennett.
However, attacker Riley O'Sullivan has done a u-turn after initially agreeing terms for the new season.
He has decided to join Harborough Town who won promotion with the Tulips after winning the play-offs.
Boss Sandy explained: "It is disappointing to lose Riley but that's football.
"I did everything I could to keep him but I had to draw a line somewhere. It's my decision and I am glad I could help Riley improve as a player and continue on his career."
A club statement added: "Spalding United Football Club can confirm that after agreeing terms with Riley O’Sullivan last week, he has since received an offer which he feels he cannot turn down and has decided to leave the club."
The Tulips have appointed Jazz Dolby as the club's new head of medical.
She joins the club after holding a similar position at Bedford Town and has worked at step three and above for a number of years.
