Peterborough and District Football League round-up
An injury-time penalty from Kieron McConnell secured victory for South Lincs Swifts in the final of the Peterborough Junior Cup on Friday night.
McConnell converted in stoppage time following a hand-ball to secure a 4-3 success for the Spalding side over Stanground Cardea Sports Reserves.
The match at Deeping Rangers between the Peterborough League Division Three rivals had seen Stanground take the lead just before the half-hour mark through Giles Abban.
However, Swifts got back on level terms within a minute through Dawid Gos only for Stanground to regain the lead late in the first half courtesy of a goal from Charlie Webb.
Swifts then created some good chances after the break and equalised for a second time with 20 minutes remaining through Keilin Spurdens.
But parity lasted just four minutes before Stanground went back in front again as Webb curled home a cracking free-kick.
Swifts again rallied and their third goal came with five minutes remaining through Tommy Coote before the late penalty drama where McConnell kept his nerve to clinch the trophy.
Whaplode Drove have a final on Friday night as they take on Netherton United in the Peterborough Challenge Cup.
The final between the Division One rivals will again be played at Deeping Rangers' Haydon Whitham Stadium with a 7.30pm kick-off.
