Knights move quickly to solve issue of lack of experience in their ranks
Pinchbeck United suspected lack of experience might be an issue early on and so it has proved.
Manager Ian Dunn has moved to resolve that quickly, lodging a seven-day notice of approach for an unnamed player involved in the Boston Town v Holbeach United match on Tuesday.
But nothing is likely to happen before the squad heads to Gorleston in Norfolk on Saturday for an extra preliminary round tie in The Emirates FA Cup.
Reflecting on the 3-1 defeat in the season opener at Peterborough Northern Star last Friday, Dunn said: "The lack of experience was pretty obvious at times.
"We just hope that the mistakes we made we learn from quickly.
"At 1-1 I felt we were more than in the game but it got away from us."
Skipper Nick Jackson will miss the trip to Gorleston, who lost 2-1 at home to Ely City in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division last Saturday.
Dunn says a draw would be a decent result as The Greens would not relish the 100-mile trip for a replay on Wednesday.
