Murphy's law comes true for Stephen at stock car meet in West Norfolk
Holbeach 1,300 stock car driver Stephen Murphy had a night to remember at King’s Lynn where he experienced the highs and lows of the sport.

But after the final, Murphy’s was the name on everyone’s lips after qualifying for the Steve Newman Memorial by winning the consolation race in style.
He then went on to leave a host of star names in his tyre dust as he took a convincing win in the Memorial race-off.
That meant a lot to Murphy with Newman have been a very popular driver before losing his life in a race several years ago.
Murphy is the first local driver to get his name on the memorial trophy since it started in 2013.
However, Murphy’s night then took a turn downhill in the Dash for the Cash - a winner takes all race to end the night.
He got buffeted by the pack and performed a high speed spectacular triple rollover which left his veteran machine looking very sorry for itself.
Fortunately, Murphy emerged unscathed and will be back on track at the next 1300 Stock Car meeting at King’s Lynn on August 17.
National points champion Dan Booth came fifth in the 1300 Stock Car World won by Kent’s Lee Pearce, while Simon Venni went close to making it a third win in the 2L Steve Newman Memorial.
Venni came home in third place, with Timmy Barnes taking the flag.
Tom Yould also had a top ten finish, whilst Rob Heanes had a top finish in the earlier White and Yellows Race.
